Formed in late 2002, The Boogaloo Investigators blasted out of the Glasgow funk scene with aplomb. With influences ranging from American rhythm & blues of the 50's & 60's and British mod soul to hammond led soul, jazz and funk, it wasn't long before the 5 piece were gaining support from DJs such as Keb Darge, Eddie Piller, Mr Scruff and Quantic. Unfortunately, due to legal wranglings, the band only survived two 7' releases 'pressed only in limited amounts (on the prophetic Defunkt label) and now fetching a handsome sum on certain internet auction sites.
To leave these modern classics sitting in collections or exclusive to high bidding snipers would not only deny the band their true potential, but also a newer generation of fans, hungry for the funk. On this release you will find 2 tracks picked from the two elusive 7's. First up, the band take on Bobby Williams 'Let's Work a While ', itself a rarity on the funk scene, and no wonder why: heavy drums, walkin bass and hammond fired grooves make this essential. On the flip, we find another cover, this time of Gus 'The Groove' Lewis? 'Let The Groove Move You ': built to shake your butt or anything else to!'
